Last Date To Apply For Pg In Pu Extended | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: Patna University (PU) has once again extended the last date for the online submission of applications for admission to all its postgraduate courses running both under conventional and self-financing mode till September 12. Earlier, September 7 was the last date.
PU students’ welfare dean Anil Kumar said the date was extended due to delay in the publication of the pending results of some undergraduate examinations of the previous session. Results will be published in a day or two, he said.
He said as many as 7382 students have submitted their online applications for admission to the conventional PG courses till Wednesday. The number of applications received for self-financing courses of the university in the current academic session (2022-23) so far is 4500. While admission to the conventional PG courses would be made on the basis of marks obtained by the applicants in their last qualifying degree examinations, the self-financing courses would admit the students on the basis of entrance test to be conducted by the departments concerned after the last date of submission of applications, Kumar said.
The written entrance test will, however, depend on the number of applications received from the aspirants. If the number of applications received in a self-financing course is less than the total number of sanctioned seats, the admission would be finalized on the basis of marks obtained in degree examinations and viva voce test, he said.
He said the process of admission to the PG courses would be completed by the end of September.
Meanwhile, classes of students admitted to all the undergraduate programmes running in different colleges of PU in the current academic session have commenced on September 2. More than 300 seats have remained vacant against which PU has allowed admission of candidates who have qualified in the entrance test but could not be admitted till date, said the dean.
