The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday carried out searches at 24 locations in Delhi, NCR, Patna, Mumbai and Ranchi in connection with a job land case, where cash worth Rs 1 crore, foreign currency including USD 1900, 540 grams of gold bullion and more than 1.5 Recovered. As a result of the searches, proceeds of crime of about Rs 600 crore have been detected at present in the form of immovable properties worth Rs 350 crore and transactions worth Rs 250 crore through various benamidars. The PMLA probe conducted so far has revealed that a number of lands at prime locations in Patna and other areas were illegally acquired by the family of the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in lieu of getting them jobs in the Railways. The current market value of these land parcels is more than Rs 200 crore. In this regard, several benamidars, shell entities and beneficial owners have been identified for these lands.

ED probe found that 4 parcels of land acquired by Lalu Yadav’s family from poor Group-D applicants for just Rs 7.5 lakh were sold by former RJD MLA Rabri Devi to Syed Abu Dojana in connivance of Rs 3.5 crore with huge profit . deal. It was also revealed in the investigation that a large part of the amount received in this way was transferred to Tejashwi Yadav’s account. Investigation revealed that in the same way lands were taken from many poor parents and candidates in lieu of Group D jobs in Railways. During the investigation, it has been revealed that more than 50 percent of the candidates admitted in many railway zones were from the assembly constituency of Lalu Yadav family. Further investigation is going on in this regard.

Investigation is underway to trace the investments made by Lalu Yadav’s family and their associates in various sectors including real estate at various places. While conducting the search, all legal formalities were strictly followed and women, children and senior citizens present in the search premises were treated with due courtesy.
