India’s most popular fashion event is back. Fashion designers and stylists from around the world India Come together to honor the genius of design at Lakme Fashion Week. The wait is finally over. The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) have jointly announced the dates for their Mumbai and Delhi editions. Delhi Fashion Week will run from 11 to 15 October. The show will run from March 9 to 12 in Mumbai.

For the first time in 16 years, FDCI and LFW collaborated for a show in Mumbai last year and the next in New Delhi in October. FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi announced the dates on behalf of the FDCI Board and Lakme. He added, “We are hoping that our event will be the right platform for the designers. It will not only help in showcasing a lot of creativity but will also give more business to the designers. FDCI has taken a leap forward and has expanded the Indian design repertoire. has carved a niche for itself and the partnership with LFW only makes it stronger.

The on-site edition of FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week was held in March and October last year after a gap of two years brought about by the pandemic. Featuring one of the strongest-ever curation of designers from across India, through ground-breaking activities, the platform continued to promote sustainability while driving messages of diversity and tolerance.

FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week 2022 was a successful one with designers showcasing cutting edge designs. In 2022, the runways saw a plethora of brilliant colours, updated classics and handcrafted craftsmanship. The general attitude was to accept individuality and think beyond boundaries. Some designers recreated gold materials and embellishments which remained popular in the mass market with its shine and luster. The prints were also subversive, attracting an enthusiastic audience and lots of Instagram-worthy content. But this year as well as last year, the emphasis has been on sustainability.
