An amount of Rs 45-45 lakh was given to the families of two BJP men killed in the violence here and a driver of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra who were killed in the violence after a car allegedly crushed protesting farmers in a BJP convoy. Went. A total of eight people, including four farmers and a local journalist, were killed in Sunday’s violence, including two BJP men and their driver.

The families of the killed farmers and journalists were also given a compensation of Rs 45 lakh earlier by the Uttar Pradesh government. Sources said that the compensation check was given to the families of BJP’s Lakhimpur (Sadar) MLA Yogesh Verma, who was slain away from the eyes of the media, and Hari Om Mishra, the minister’s driver.

He said that the local Tehsildar (Revenue Officer) gave the compensation check to the next of kin of the second slain BJP leader Shyam Sundar. The state government had initially announced an ex-gratia of Rs 45 lakh each for the families of four farmers, but the kin of local journalist Raman Kashyap was also given checks later.

SDM of Nighasan Tehsil OP Gupta along with other civil and police officers handed over money to the journalist’s family two days ago. Relatives of the two killed BJP workers and Mishra’s driver took to social media to hand over checks to the two families, along with photographs of the MLA confirming the receipt of the money.

The MLA could not be reached for confirmation but a government official said on Friday that the compensation amount has been given by the government to the families of all the eight people. Following a preliminary inquiry into Sunday’s violence, the two killed BJP men and Mishra’s driver have also been named in the FIR as being responsible for inciting the violence, with six primarily unidentified accused. The sole accused in the complaint lodged by a farmer from Bahraich is Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State (Home) Mishra.

Among the four farmers who died, Lavpreet Singh and Nachhatar Singh are residents of Lakhimpur, Daljit Singh and Gurwinder Singh from Bahraich.
