KURUKSHETRA: The Kurukshetra police On Tuesday, two people were arrested in separate cases immigration Fraud of Rs 8.50 lakh and Rs 14 lakh.
Kurukshetra Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subhash Chander said the arrested accused have been identified as Abhishek of Akalgarh in Ambala district and Nitish Kumar of Baldev Nagar in Ambala city.
DSP Subhash said that Abhishek was produced in the court on Wednesday, from where he got police remand for two days and the accused Nitish was sent to judicial custody by the court.
On September 26, 2020, Rulda Ram of Dhagali in Kurukshetra district filed a complaint against Abhishek at Shahabad police station, alleging that he cheated her on the pretext of giving her son a study visa for Cyprus in Europe.
“My son Ramsharan was given sponsorship for Dubai and charged Rs 3.40 lakh for it, where he stayed for five to six days. He was then sent to Turkey at a cost of 2,000 euros, where he stayed for three to four days. Then Ramsharan was sent to Northern Cyprus for an additional 4,000 Euros. Then he asked for another 4,000 Euros to send my son to England but we refused to pay him. My son is now jailed in Cyprus Abhishek along with his partner Sandeep, who he claimed is in Cyprus, duped us Rs 8.50 lakh,” Rulda Ram told the police.
In the second case, Jaibir Singh of Garhi Gujran in Karnal district had filed a complaint against three accused Sukhbir, Mukesh Duhan, Kulwinder and Nitish Kumar in Kurukshetra police on June 22, 2021, that they were cheated of Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of cheating. . Providing study visa to Ukraine to his son Gaurav and his two more relatives Balram and Kamal.
Jabir said, “Through our relatives, we got in touch with Sukhbir, an immigration agent who had an office on Babain Road in Ladwa and his well-known Mukesh Duhan of Mogul Jattan. He was asked to provide study visa in Ukraine. Demanded Rs 4.50 lakh for one person.” .
“After taking a total of Rs 14 lakh, the accused agents gave passports and tickets to Ukraine. They arranged a flight to Ukraine on March 23, 2021, and we went to Delhi airport, but returned them due to incomplete papers. Deported. Agents asked to board. A rescheduled flight on April 6, 2021. All three children were boarded a flight to Ukraine and upon their arrival, they were told they were illegally sent abroad and no payment of their university and hostel fee has been made. They were deported back to India. When we demanded our money, the accused started making threats,” said Jaibir.
Police said accused Nitish had an immigration office in Chandigarh and had committed the crime in connivance with local agents based in Kurukshetra.
