Kritika Rawat, Tarini Rawat: CDS Bipin Rawat’s daughters who performed last rites

New Delhi: Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were cremated at the Berar Square crematorium in Delhi on Friday. His two daughters Kritika Rawat and Tarini Rawat performed the last rites of their parents.

The eldest of two daughters, Krutika is married and has a son, who was beheaded while paying his last respects to his grandparents. As per reports, Tarini is a lawyer and lived with her parents in the national capital.

General Rawat’s younger daughter Tarini told news agency PTI, “After the last rites at the Delhi Cantonment crematorium today, we will take his ‘asthi’ (ash) to Haridwar tomorrow.”

In 2018, Bipin Rawat last visited his native village in Pauri, Uttarakhand. His uncle Bharat Singh Rawat said that he had plans to build a house there after his retirement.

Bipin Rawat’s maternal uncle is in Uttarkashi, where he last visited in 2019.

General Bipin Rawat’s wife Madhulika Rawat was the daughter of the royal family of Sohagpur in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. His father’s name was Kunwar Mrigendra Singh.

Madhulika was the president of AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association), one of the largest non-governmental organizations in India that looks after the welfare of wives, children and dependents of army personnel. Previously, she was a part of several welfare programs and campaigns that help Veer Naris (Army Widows), cancer patients and children with disabilities.

Madhulika completed her studies in Delhi and did her graduation in Psychology from Delhi University.

Presently his family lives in the ancestral residence ‘Rajabagh’ located at Shahdol district headquarters.

General Rawat’s younger brother and a former Army officer, Vijay Rawat, 60, from Jaipur, said, “I spoke to him before leaving for Tamil Nadu to attend the ceremony in Wellington. Never thought, luck would take him away.” From us.”

Yashvardhan Singh, brother-in-law of Bipin Rawat, said the late general had promised to come to Shahdol next year and assured to take steps to set up a Sainik school in the district.

Both Bipin Rawat Singh said and the last rites of Madhulika Rawat were performed on a pyre and her ashes would be immersed in Haridwar.

“Both General Rawat and my sister were cremated on a common pyre. We will lift the ashes in the Kalash tomorrow morning and then go to Haridwar where the ashes will be immersed in the Ganges and some rituals will be performed.”
