Despite having no godfather in the film industry, Kriti Sanon has managed to establish herself as one of the most sought after young actresses. Sanon made her Bollywood debut with the 2014 action Heropanti, but she didn’t really become famous-mainstream until the 2017 romance comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi. In the years to come, the actress has proved herself to be adept at handling anything that comes her way.
However, the release of Mimi in 2021 had a profound impact on Sanon’s film career. Sanon, who played the role of a surrogate in the Laxman Utekar-directed film, gave the most engaging and committed performance of her career in Mimi.
“I see a change in energy and the way people look at me and I feel like I’ve been taken more seriously as an actor,” Sanon told us after Mimi’s massive critical acclaim was how things worked for her. Sanon, who is awaiting the release of her four upcoming films, including Shahzada, Bhediya, Adipurush and Ganpath, says she considers herself lucky to get a chance to portray such diverse characters one after the other.
“I like to do what I do. All these movies are pretty far from each other. So, that also makes it very exciting for an actor because you’re not limiting yourself to one world or one kind of character. The characters look so different when you talk of Aadipurush or Bhediya, forget the way they are in. Shehzada with Kartik (Aryan) in Ganpath for all-out massive drama “They are very different worlds. The last few years have been amazingly full of shootings and finally, people are going to theaters which is a good thing so I hope all these releases will be well received.”
The actress is currently undergoing rigorous training for the action thriller Ganpath opposite Tiger Shroff. Talking about the same, Sanon said, “Ganpath is a film where I have to be very physically fit as it is an action film. I have a lot of action to do. So is my character. The one who does it daily. He is very fit. So now, I have started following a very different diet. I have become a lot more consistent with my workouts. Body weights and weight training and sometimes Yoga is a mix. I like to combine a lot of things so that the body doesn’t get used to just one routine. In general, I think it’s important to stay fit. It also has to do with your mental health.”
On her recent association with a shoe brand that has donated nearly 100 pairs of shoes to children with special needs, Sanon said, “I think fashion is so expressive. When there’s a brand that promotes expressive fashion where every sneaker is a uniquely different piece, you can choose what goes with your personality, and Skechers is such a vibrant, youthful brand. I just love that they have a variety of funky, cool shoes as well as the basics with their comfort technology that combines it with style. When they came to join me for this particular cause, it really excited me because it is not only encouraging people to get fit and running them but it is supporting a great cause. is also doing.
