Mysuru: 199 children in the age group of 12 to 14 years were caught against Kovid in Mysore. MandyaChamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, shivamoga and Chikkamagaluru districts on Wednesday, the day of the inauguration of the vaccination campaign.

In Mysore, the campaign was launched by MLA SA Ramdas at Seth Mohandas Tulsidas (SMT) Hospital on JLB Road. The first dose was given to students from private schools, mostly girls. currency president HV Rajiv and Zilla Parishad CEO BR Purnima were present.
Mysore District Immunization Nodal Officer and RCHO Dr MS Jayant said that 63 children were given the first dose of vaccine. The second dose of vaccine will be given after an interval of 28 days. Vaccination will be done at taluk headquarters including KR Hospital from Thursday.
“Around 1,12,538 beneficiaries have been identified and the entire group can be covered in a week’s time. The district has reserves of 70,000 Korbewax. District Health Officer Dr KH Prasad said that children born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 are eligible to receive the vaccine.
Kodagu:
20 selected beneficiaries of Class VII of St Michael’s School in Madikeri were vaccinated with the first dose of Corbevax at Kodagu on Wednesday. RCHO Dr Gopinath said that only a few students would be given doses for the next three days as a precautionary measure. As per the data, more than 16,500 students are eligible for the vaccine in Kodagu and a total of 10,000 doses of Corbevax are available.
Mandya
: 42 children were vaccinated at Mandya Medical College Hospital. DHO Dr Dhananjay said there are 59,000 beneficiaries in the district and parents have been requested to ensure vaccination of their children. : Zilla Parishad CEO Kantharaji Inaugurated the vaccination drive in Hassan and on the first day only 16 students were employed. There are 59,169 beneficiaries in the age group. Dr Kantaraju, the officer in charge of covid vaccination, said that 40,000 doses of Corbevax are in stock. Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru:
Shivamogga DC R Selvamani inaugurated the vaccination drive at Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences and on the first day only 20 beneficiaries were given vaccines. The district has 64,387 beneficiaries in age group and 40,000 Corbevax vaccine doses. In Chikkamagaluru, DC KN Ramesh inaugurated the campaign at the district hospital. Around 18 were arrested on Wednesday. Vaccination Special Officer Dr Bharat said that the district has identified 30,910 beneficiaries and 20,000 vaccine doses are available at present.
Chamarajanagar
: The first dose of Corbevax was administered to at least 20 students on March 16 and there were no adverse reactions among the beneficiaries. DHO Dr KM Visvesvaraya said that Chamarajanagar has 26,660 beneficiaries in the age group.
