Kovid vaccination for 12-14 years group will start from March 16: Union Health Minister

new Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on Monday, “Covid vaccination for children between 12-14 years will start from March 16 and the comorbidity clause of giving precautionary doses to senior citizens will also be removed.”

According to the report of PTI, Biologicals E’s Corbevax will be given to people in the age group of 12-14 years.

The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) recommends vaccination of children aged 12-14 years.

An official source said, “Vaccination of children in the age group of 12-14 years is most likely to start from Tuesday. Also, the co-morbidity clause has been removed to give precautionary doses to those aged 60 years and above. will be given.” to PTI.

The nationwide vaccination campaign started on January 16, 2021. First, health workers were vaccinated. The vaccination of frontline workers (FLWs) began on February 2 last year.

The second phase began on March 1 for people above 60 years of age and 45 years and above with specified co-morbid conditions. Those over the age of 45 were vaccinated from April 1, 2021. Then the government decided to expand its vaccination campaign by allowing everyone above the age of 18 to be vaccinated from May 1 last year.

From January 3 this year, the Center has decided to vaccinate adolescents in the age group of 15-18 years. in the light of omicron The variant, India began administering a precautionary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from January 10 to healthcare workers, frontline workers, personnel deployed for election duty and those aged 60 years and above with co-morbidities.
