Kovid Daily Updates: Over 1000 deaths, 1.72 lakh new cases in last 24 hours in India

New Delhi: With the death of 1008 people in the country in the last 24 hours, more than a thousand deaths related to Kovid are taking place in India. Maharashtra

Maharashtra has reported a marginal increase in the cases of Omicron, with 113 new infections of the highly transmissible variant. According to a PTI report, the state reported 18,067 new coronavirus cases and 79 pandemic-related deaths.

The COVID-19 caseload in the state rose to 77,53,548 and the death toll climbed to 1,42,784. There were 14,372 cases and 94 deaths in the state on Tuesday. Total 3,334 omicron The infection has been registered in Maharashtra so far, out of which 1,701 patients have been cured.

The state now has 1,73,221 active coronavirus cases. State capital Mumbai reported 1,121 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths, while Pune reported 2,966 cases and three deaths.

Of the eight administrative divisions (each comprising several districts), the Pune circle reported 6,711 new cases, followed by Nagpur (2,963 cases), Nashik (2,463), Mumbai (2,407), Akola (965), Aurangabad (905 cases). ), Kolhapur (898) and Latur circle (755 cases).

Of the 79 newcomers, 26 deaths were reported in Mumbai circle, 16 in Pune, 10 each in Latur and Nashik, seven in Kolhapur, five each in Akola and Nagpur. There were no deaths in Aurangabad circle.

A total of 36,281 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cured patients to 74,33,633. The recovery rate in the state is 95.87 percent.
