Puducherry: All schools conducting offline classes for students of classes 1 to 9 in the Union Territory will remain closed from Monday due to the unabated rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The government reopened schools from classes 1 to 9 on December 4 with the pandemic situation showing signs of shortage. But for the last few days new cases are increasing and it has touched 444 cases during the last 24 hours ended at 10 am on Sunday.
The government has already ended the physical operation of the 25th National Youth Festival and announced that it will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on January 12 through virtual mode from Delhi on January 12.
