Jaipur: The Rajasthan Rajasthan Government announced shutdown on Sunday schools In urban areas, Sunday curfews, deadlines in markets and limits on occupancy at restaurants and movie theaters have been observed in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases.
New guidelines aim to tighten restrictions on public movement and activities as new cases of coronavirus and its omicron The variant is spreading rapidly in the state.
As per the guidelines issued by the state home department, schools up to class 12 in municipal and municipal areas will remain closed till January 30. Online classes will continue as before, it said.
Earlier, the government had announced the closure of schools from class 1 to 8 in Jaipur till January 17. Jodhpur Municipal areas.
The guidelines state that schools will remain closed from Monday, but the rest of the restrictions will be effective from January 11.
The authorities have also decided to impose a curfew from 11 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Monday to contain the spread of the disease.
During this curfew period, all markets, workplaces and commercial premises shall remain closed, the guidelines stated.
However, factories with continuous production cycle and night shifts, IT and e-commerce, chemist shops, marriage related services, emergency services, bus stands and railway stations and health services have been exempted.
As per the guidelines, shops, malls and other business establishments will remain open till 8 pm, while restaurants and clubs can operate till 10 pm with 50 per cent seating capacity.
Cinema halls, multiplexes, amusement parks, banquet halls etc will have to be closed with 50 per cent occupancy and till 8 pm.
A maximum of 100 people are allowed in marriage ceremonies, but the limit will be for 50 people in municipal and municipal areas till January 30.
All religious places will remain open till 8 pm, but offerings of garlands, prasad, chadar and other things are prohibited.
The guidelines state that the night curfew will be in force from 11 pm to 5 am daily.
