Kovid-19: Close to 500 cases in Mumbai, more than 50 buildings sealed in the city Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The fresh Covid-19 cases in Mumbai rose alarmingly near 500 on Friday as 497 persons tested positive for the infection.
As per the data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the total caseload of the city has now risen to 7,39,861.BMC)
Also, the death toll has now risen to 16,068 with five deaths due to the virus in the day.
All five patients had comorbidities. Of these, three were above 60 years of age while two were in the 40-60 age group.
On the other hand, 395 people were cured of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, shared the BMC.
With a recovery rate of 97 per cent, Mumbai has recorded 7,16,511 discharges so far.
The city is now left with 4,801 active cases.
The overall growth rate of COVID-19 cases from September 16 to September 22 is 0.06 per cent, while the doubling rate is 1,203 days.
The number of sealed buildings in BMC limits now stands at 51, while there are no active containment zones (jhuggi-jhopri and chawls) in the city.
