Kolkata High Court judge appeals to CJI: Said- stay on the decisions of single bench by double bench, corrupt will get encouragement

Kolkata High Court judge Abhijit Ganguly has appealed to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (CJI), accusing his own fellow judges of overturning the decision. Ganguly has written a letter saying that whatever decision I give for the last few months, it is changed by the double bench of the High Court.

Ganguly further wrote in the letter that during the hearing of a case, the lawyer said that let them decide whatever they want. We will take him to a double bench and get him to stay. He has said that the matter is serious, it should be seen.

Justice Ganguly said that this matter is related to the dignity of the judiciary and the trust in the public. So this should be taken into account.

He said that on November 22, 2021, through the School Service Commission (SSC) of West Bengal, I ordered a CBI inquiry in the matter of corruption and rigging in the recruitment of employees in Group D and C and the appointment of teachers, but it was stayed. was given.

case 1In 2016, the Bengal government had taken out the appointment of 13,000 non-teaching staff. A panel was formed for recruitment in this. It was alleged that this panel made many recruitments even after the end of its term, on which the High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry.

Justice Ganguly further said- Similarly, on March 25, 2022, we ordered to give the details of movable and immovable assets of Shanti Prasad Singh, Chief Adviser of the School Service Commission of West Bengal, on which the double bench stayed.

The court had sought the details of the property of accused Shanti Prasad Singh, after which the double bench, on the decision of the single bench, said that the details of the property can be given in a sealed cover and it is not necessary to show it to the petitioner.

Corruption will get encouragement
Justice Ganguly said that the manner in which the decision of the Single Bench is being stayed without giving any concrete reason, it is worrying. He said that this would encourage the corrupt and the hands of the single bench would be tied.
