Jamshedpur: Kolhan university Biometric will have to be abolished (KU) Presence system and instead go for a contactless face-reading attendance system for your faculty members and staff.
As an initial step, 10 face reading attendance machines will be installed in the university building next month. Later, the machine will be installed in its 12 constituent and nine affiliated colleges.
KU spokesperson PK Pani said, “The finance committee of the university has approved the proposal and funds are likely to be allocated soon, after which the process of setting up the machines will start.”
He said that the decision was taken to reduce the chances of transmission of Covid-19. Pani said, “As per the government’s COVID-19 guidelines, the biometric finger-print attendance system has been suspended and the traditional system of physical attendance (where an employee signs the attendance register) is being followed, Pani said.
He said, “Powered by new-age face-reading attendance machine technology, which is capable of tracking a person’s eyes and capturing physiology data and KU will become the first university in Jharkhand to adopt this technology, ” They said.
Initially, 10 machines record the attendance of 160 university employees.
“All colleges will be asked to share the data of their respective staff and accordingly, we will decide the number of face-reading machines that need to be installed in each college,” Pani said.
