Garhwa: A young man who had previously rejected a teenager shot him with a knife.
15-year-old Shabnam Khatoon was brutally murdered in Kariwadih village of Kharoundhi police station area. Garhwa District Shabnam is a student of class IX on Tuesday Kariwadih High SchoolShe was on her way home from school with her six classmates at around 12.30 pm when her neighbor Imtiaz Ansari (19) attacked her in Garai Tola. When something went wrong, the girl’s classmates ran and informed her parents.
When the girl resisted his move, Imtiaz stabbed her and then fired two bullets from his country-made gun, killing her on the spot. He then fled from the spot leaving behind a knife and pistol.
When Kharoundhi police station in-charge Abhay Kumar reached the spot along with his team, the agitated villagers prevented the victim’s body from being taken for post-mortem for three hours. They were demanding immediate arrest of the youth.
Banshidhar Nagar SDPO Pramod Kumar Keshari, who reached the spot, inquired about the incident from the classmates of the victim. “Both the victim and the attacker belong to the same village. The girl was murdered allegedly over the love of a neighbour. The police is investigating the matter. The killer will be arrested soon.”
The victim’s mother Sakina Bibi said, ‘Imtiaz Ansari was harassing Shabnam for the last two years. When his parents came to know about the matter, they beat him up. Despite this he did not stop. He had also threatened to kill him if he did not respond favorably to Shabnam’s proposal.
