Kia has recalled about 1,09,000 cars in the US due to a problem with the instrument display. This problem may make the vehicles non-compliant with US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Models like the Kia Niro Hybrid, Niro Plug-in Hybrid, 2023 Kia Soul, Telluride, Sportage and Sportage Plug-in Hybrid models. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), software voltage instability of the instrument cluster as well as boot errors in the screen are the root cause of the problem.
If the problem persists, drivers may encounter a blank screen while driving. This will deprive the driver of all the important information about the driver from all the important information related to the car. For example, the driver may not be able to see warning messages, inputs from the tire pressure monitoring system, and other important information.
Kia first became aware of the potential performance issue in February 2023. The manufacturer discovered 71 vulnerable vehicles in March and six more by mid-April. The corporation decided to recall on 19 April.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Kia, who will advise them to take their automobile to a Kia dealer. The notification letters are expected to be sent on May 26, and Kia will send notices to dealers on May 1. The instrument cluster of the vehicle will receive a free software update from the service technician. Owners of affected vehicles may be reimbursed for any repair costs they have already incurred. 108,936 are subject to Automobile ll.
Meanwhile, the South Korean automaker has launched the Kia Sonet Auroch Edition in India with a starting price of Rs 11.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The new car comes with several cosmetic changes, which include front-skid plates, tangerine accents and rear-skid plates, among other things. Furthermore, the company offers five color schemes for the new model namely Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver and Glacier White Pearl.
