Kharagpur : Inauguration of the second bridge built during the Corona period – Rail Hunt

The second foot bridge built during the Corona period in Kharagpur railway station premises was inaugurated on Thursday with a ceremonial ceremony. Through the function, hope was raised to improve the passenger comfort. In the welcome address, Divisional Railway Manager Manoranjan Pradhan while welcoming the guests said that its construction started during the lock down of Corona period. It is the driver of major transformation of the complex as it will bring great convenience to the commuters.

On the other hand, South Eastern Railway General Manager Archana Joshi said that about Rs 25 crore has been spent on this. This will avoid additional congestion in the station premises. Circulating area and booking office will also be constructed on both sides of the bridge, which will further improve passenger convenience.

Member of Parliament Dilip Ghosh, who was present as the chief guest at the function, linked the program to the “achche din” of the local context and said that some major rail projects have gained momentum in recent times. That is why I appealed to the GM to personally present here and encourage the team. It is a matter of great pleasure that the program took place even in adverse adverse conditions of bad weather.

No representative of the local municipality or state government was seen in the ceremony. Local MLA Hiranmay Chattopadhyay was also invited in the program, but due to some reason he could not attend.
