Thiruvananthapuram: Complete covid vaccination has crossed the 75 percent mark Kerala The state government said here on Tuesday that over two crore people have received the first and second doses of the jab.
A total of 2,60,09,703 people—97.38 percent of the total population to be vaccinated—received the first dose of the jab, while 2,00,32,229 people—75 percent—received the second shot, the state health minister said. Veena George said here.
In this regard, 4,60,41,932 doses – both first and second – were given in the southern state, he said in a statement here.
“This is much higher than the national average. Kerala has achieved this feat when the percentage of first and second dose vaccinations at the national level was 88.33 and 58.98 per cent respectively,” George said.
About 100 percent of people who have received the first dose Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Wayanad And transgender districts, she said.
High-grade Wayanad leads the campaign for full immunization and 85 per cent of people have received two doses of the jab.
He said that health workers and frontline fighters have received 100 per cent of the first dose and 91 and 93 per cent of the second dose, respectively.
He quoted figures that more women than men have vaccinated in the state.
George said women have received a total of 24 million doses of the vaccine as against 2.19 shots by men.
Stating that a special vaccination campaign is being run in the state omicronThe minister said that Kerala currently has a stockpile of 10 lakh doses of the vaccine.
He urged people to strictly follow social distancing norms and other health protocols and those who had not yet received the jabs, took them at the earliest.
