Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, alleged that she was threatened by a person named Naufal from Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district. She alleged that the man called her repeatedly and asked her to stop leveling allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena Vijayan and Thavanur MLA and former minister KT Jaleel.

She complained to Kerala DGP Anil Kant through an email with audio clippings of the telephone call.

In the complaint, she alleged that she was told that she would be removed if she did not stop leveling allegations against the chief minister and others. The man also named gangster Maradu Anish, who was accused in several criminal cases, including the alleged murder.

Naufal had admitted that he had called Swapna but she had no political affiliations.

Meanwhile, the Mankra police took Naufal into custody from his residence on Sunday. Police sources told IANS that he would be taken to the office of the Superintendent of Police in Malappuram and questioned.

Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in a gold smuggling case involving diplomatic goods that rocked Kerala, has now leveled several charges against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family, including his daughter Veena and wife Kamala.

Swapna’s allegations have sparked widespread protests against the Chief Minister and the streets of Kerala have become a battleground between Youth Congress, Muslim League and Yuva Morcha workers on one side and Kerala Police on the other.
