Singer KK passed away on the night of 31 May after performing at a concert in Kolkata. During the incident he fell ill, his condition deteriorated and the singer was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The postmortem report revealed that KK died of cardiac arrest. Much has been said about the circumstances under which the singer died, and whether better care would have been taken to prevent his death.
The singer’s daughter Tamara has now shared a lengthy note asking people not to abuse or ‘spread hatred’ against KK’s managers – Hitesh Bhat and Shubham Bhatt. She shared several old photos of KK with her team members and said the late singer ‘trusted and loved’ her team, while urging fans not to buy into the “rumoured hatred”.
She wrote, “I heard about the hate mail and a lot of anger towards Hitesh uncle and Shubham. For those of you who are resorting to this kind of abuse, ask yourself what would your father have thought if he had seen this? (sic)”
In her note, Tamara praised Keke’s team and thanked the singer for being by her side during her final moments. “All Dad fans are sending all their love and support to his immediate family. Although Dad was not with us all the time, he was with his other family, as he used to call them. Please don’t fall into hate rumours, please send your love and support to them too. They need it as much as we need it, we are all suffering. I am so grateful that even though Dad was not with us on his last day, he kept him with him. These are the people the father himself trusted and loved with all his heart, and that is a big reason why dad became who he was,” she said.
KK was performing at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata, where he fell ill and later passed away. After the death of the singer, questions arose about the status of the venue and the number of viewers. It was reported that the air conditioning was not working properly and the auditorium was overfilled.
