KCR in Bihar to woo Nitish Kumar but yet to endorse him as PM face | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao stated the obvious and skirted the tricky part during a trip to Patna on Wednesday, urging the opposition to unite for a “BJP-mukt Bharat” while keeping his view on Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar as a potential prime ministerial candidate for later. “Nitish Kumar is among the senior-most and best leaders across the country. We can decide these things (whether he can be the opposition’s PM pick) at a later stage,” KCR said.
KCR, one of the more vocal regional faces standing up to BJP along with Mamata Banerjee, has been advocating a non-Congress, non-BJP federal front at the national level. Besides Nitish Kumar, he met deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and ailing RJD president Lalu Prasad in the state capital.
Taking questions in Nitish’s presence, KCR avoided giving a direct reply to whether Congress would be on board if his plan for a national front fructifies. “These issues will be decided in due course. We are not in a hurry.” He blamed the Modi government for the “poor state of the Indian economy“.
