Kartik Aaryan says that after Bhool Bhulia 2, other filmmakers started believing that he too can ‘carry a film on his shoulders’.
Kartik Aaryan’s fallout with Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 is no secret. The actor had already started shooting for the film when he was dropped from the project due to ‘professional reasons’. In a recent interview, when the interviewer mentioned the same, Kartik broke in and shared what inspired him during that time.
“Yeah, but I had a lot of confidence. I told myself I’ll let my work speak,” he told E-Times. He further called Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 a ‘revolution’ and said, “I knew that ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ would sweep the theatres. I decided to promote ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ as much as possible. Due to days there were constraints on the budget, but I went ahead.
Kartik Aaryan further mentioned that he was sure about the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. “It was being widely said that I would not be able to do ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ well. I was being directly doubted here. However, I knew in my heart that this film would work and would be appreciated by the public. I will bring it back to the theaters and I told this to Kumar Mangat. I knew I would be able to do it in my own way and take this film to a higher level,” he shared.
Karthik also revealed that after the success of the Anees Bazmee directorial, other filmmakers began to believe that he too could ‘carry a film on his shoulders’. He also clarified that he does not have a list of filmmakers he would like to work with, rather he explores all opportunities that come his way. “Yes, everyone wants you to do more and more things just for them. But I want to be everyone’s favorite. Look, I can’t stand small talk. I cannot please people by chattering. There is no one on my list with whom I would not want to work. No one should even feel like this because it is not like that at all. No matter how anyone feels in front of you now or not. Luv Ranjan sir has done 4 films with me, Sajid Nadiadwala sir has done 2, the makers are repeating me. I’m in a happy place,” he said.
