Karnataka: Three arrested in connection with Bajrang Dal activist murder in Shivamogga, says HM Araga Jnanendra | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Karnataka home minister Araga Jnanendra on Monday said that three people have been arrested in connection with the Bajrang Dal activist Harsha murder case.
Harsha, a resident of Seegehatti, was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants on Sunday night at the Ravi Varma lane in Bharathi Colony in Shivamogga,
“We have arrested three people. As per my information, five people are involved in this murder,” reported ANI quoting the minister.

Jnanendra said that the police officials have been instructed to analyse the situation and maintain law & order.
“Have to take care for 2-3 days,” said the minister on the violence breaking out in some regions.

Meanwhile, in violence broke out during his funeral procession a photo journalist and a woman cop along with one more person was injured.
They were injured when miscreants pelted stones during the funeral procession that took place amid tight security on Monday, even as several vehicles were torched and damaged while there were reports of some shops being ransacked, reported PTI.
According to Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Selvamani, “already section 144 has been imposed (for two days). Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) himself is monitoring the maintenance of law and order.. we are doing all that we can and bring the situation under control at the earliest.”
ADGP Murugan said efforts were on to bring the situation under control. Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Commissioner were visiting various places and using force wherever required, and the administration is taking all the necessary measures to ensure peace and order is not disturbed.
He said a case has been registered and the investigating team has already arrested two accused in connection with yesterday’s murder and have gathered complete information about who were all involved in it. Efforts were on to nab the others, he added.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said no one should fall prey to the rumours. They should maintain law and order.
