Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Two persons have been detained by the district police after they were accused of gang-raping a 16-year-old girl.
Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Hrishikesh Sonawane said the incident happened on Friday when the victim was on her way to school.
According to her complaint, as she was on her way from her home to her school, an acquaintance of hers came in a white car and abducted her along with four others who are accused of gang rape.
A case has been registered under IPC sections 366 (A) (procurement of minor girl), 376D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation and sections 4 and 06). POCSO ACT. Further investigation is on.
Home Minister Araga Gyanendra, who is in Udupi, said the investigation will take its course and rape cases will not be tolerated.
