Addressing the public on his visit to poll-bound Karnataka’s Udupi district on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda attacked the Congress and former chief minister Siddaramaiah over alleged corruption charges against him and called on the grand old party to make an anti-corruption campaign. Siddaramaiah hit back at the BJP chief on Twitter with a series of tweets supporting his decision to form the ACB. He replied that the corruption charges against the Lokayukta were the reason.

The Congress leader asked Nadda why he had maintained silence when several BJP-ruled states had formed ACBs.

Siddaramaiah also asked why despite being in power for the last four years, the BJP could not take any action or investigate the allegations leveled against him.

Besides questioning Siddaramaiah’s decision to form the ACB, Nadda accused the Congress of minority appeasement, alleging that the former CM had released 1,600 PFI workers and withdrawn 175 cases against the now-banned organisation, leading to peace and directly responsible for the breach of harmony.
