Karnataka: Hindu group protests against students offering namaz in government school

After the headmistress of a government school in Karnataka’s Kolar district allegedly allowed 20 students to offer prayers in the classroom every Friday, a Hindu organization protested and ended the practice.

Following the protest, Kolar District Collector Umesh Kumar has ordered a detailed report and inquiry into the functioning of the Mulbagal Someshwara Palaya Bale Changappa Government Kannada Model Higher Primary School.

According to sources, the headmistress Uma Devi allowed the students to offer prayers in the classroom to prevent them from going out for prayers.
