Karnataka Election 2023: Congress Lists 61 Poll Observers

New Delhi: The Congress party released the list of party election observers for Bengaluru city and assembly level observers to oversee the election preparations for the assembly elections-2023 in Karnataka, the party said on Friday. A total of 61 observers have been appointed by the Congress in the state to oversee the election preparations for the upcoming elections in Karnataka.

“The Congress President has approved the proposal for appointment of AICC Observers for Bangalore City and AICC Assembly Level Observers to oversee election preparations for the forthcoming Assembly Elections in Karnataka -2023, each of them with immediate effect,” mentioned in the press release.

The party has appointed 5 observers in Bangalore city out of the list of 61 observers. It added, “The Congress party observers for Bengaluru city are former PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy, former MRCC president Sanjay Nirupam, MP Benny Behanan, MP Karti Chidambaram, MP Jothimani.” In Karnataka, which has 224 assembly seats, the ruling BJP currently has 119 MLAs, while the Congress has 75 and its ally JD(S) 28.

Political parties in the state including the ruling BJP, Congress and ally JD(S) are engaged in a blame game with the government trying to corner the government on the issue of corruption. Karnataka will go to polls in a single phase on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
