Indicating the easing of restrictions imposed due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said a decision on lifting the weekend restrictions and night curfew will be taken on January 21 after consulting experts. will be taken.

“There is a buzz among people that during the third wave Covid is causing fever and cough and they are recovering without hospitalization. They believe that they can carry out their daily business by following the COVID guidelines. The sentiments of the people have been conveyed to the expert committee.”

The committee has been asked to look into the demand and they are analyzing the COVID situation in the state. “We will get the complete picture in the meeting organized by experts on Friday. Decision will be taken as per the suggestion of experts.”

“It is our duty to save lives and keeping this factor in mind, strict steps are being taken. However, the number of Kovid is increasing, so there is no burden on the hospitals. We have instructed hospitals to focus on OPD treatment.”

CM Bommai, reacting to the allegations of the Congress, said that no action is being initiated against the BJP leaders for violating the guidelines of Kovid, there is no need for the Congress leaders to file a complaint in this regard. “I have directed Chief Secretary P. Ravikumar to initiate action against everyone, including BJP leaders, for violating the COVID guidelines.”

Meanwhile, Health Minister K. Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Sudhakar expressed the same opinion on the issue of lifting the weekend curfew. “Weekend curfew will be applicable till evening only. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is holding a meeting of experts on Friday morning. This is a people friendly government. Decisions will be taken in public interest. However, the first priority is to save lives. Everything will be discussed in the expert committee meeting and the decision will be announced.”
