Muslim organizations have called a Karnataka bandh on Thursday, March 17, against the decision of the Karnataka High Court in the Hijab controversy. Its effect is also visible. The people of the organization said that the decision of the High Court is against the Shariat. On the other hand, Yashpal Suvarna, Vice President of Udupi College Development Committee has said that the people of a terrorist organization from Hyderabad had trained the girl students to give statements in front of the media.

Maulana Sagir Ahmed Khan Rushdie of Amir-e-Shariat Karnataka expressed grief over the court’s decision and appealed to all Muslim organizations for Karnataka bandh in protest against it. The High Court had said in its decision that it is not necessary according to Islam for girls to wear hijab in schools and colleges.

Sagir has announced the Karnataka bandh at a time when Section 144 is in force in the entire state till March 21 due to the hijab controversy.

During this, he said that against the decision of the court, I call for a one-day peaceful bandh across Karnataka. We appeal to all sections of the society including the oppressed class, poor and weaker sections to join this bandh.

He appealed to every section of the Muslim community to participate in the bandh. “We especially appeal to the youth not to use force with the intention of shutting down any business or disturbing the peace,” he said. This bandh is to show our anger towards the court order. Sagir Ahmed has also called a meeting of all Muslim organizations of Amir-e-Shariat on Thursday.

Dalit organizations also support the bandh
Sagir Ahmed’s Karnataka bandh is also getting support from Dalit organizations. State President of Republican Party of India and Dalit Sangharsh Samiti, Dr. Mohan Raj said that Muslim organizations spoke of supporting the bandh. Mohan Raj said that due to the different paths of Muslims and Dalits in UP, Yogi’s government was again formed. We will not let this happen again. In this fight, Dalits will fully support the Muslims.
