Karnataka: 2 more arrested in Bajrang Dal worker Harsha murder case, total 10 | Hubballi News – Times of India

SHIVAMOGGA: Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of Bajrang Dal worker Harsha here last Sunday, taking the total to 10.
Shivamogga superintendent of police BM Laxmi Prasad said Abdul Roshan, 24, from Hosamane Extension of Bhadravati town and Jafar Sadiq, 55, from Shivamogga city were taken into custody on Friday.
With the situation limping back to normal, the district administration has decided to relax curfew from Saturday, but will extend prohibitory orders in the riot-hit city till February 28. All schools and colleges will remain closed till Sunday.
Commercial establishments are allowed to operate between 6am and 4pm from Saturday. Strict vigil will continue to be maintained during the relaxation period and police and paramilitary forces will be on high alert.
On reports that Harsha had received calls from two persons before and after his murder, the Shivamogga SP said police were still trying to trace the callers. He added that he would share details if cops find any clue about their involvement.
The SP said they have recovered two cars and a bike allegedly used by the assailants in the attack and the registration numbers of these vehicles do not belong to Karnataka.
After the murder, the attackers allegedly used another vehicle to escape from the spot and police are still trying to locate it.
Prasad said five of the 10 arrested persons in the case have criminal background and a special investigation team is checking whether they have affiliation with any outfit.
“Some youths who had brandished weapons during Monday’s violence in the presence of police have been identified and they will be nabbed shortly,” he said.
The administration decided to impose curfew in Shivamogga city from Monday following widespread violence during the funeral procession of Harsha.
