Kareena Kapoor gave a shout-out to The Archies team.
“So sad to not be there – night shoots. This is only the beginning of an amazing ride!! Lots of love,” Kareena Kapoor wrote.
The much-anticipated Zoya Akhtar film, The Archies, had its grand premiere in Mumbai on Tuesday night. The event saw Bollywood’s who’s who in attendance. Kareena Kapoor Khan could not attend The Archies premiere due to her shoot schedule. She, however, made sure to send her best wishes to the entire Archies team virtually. The Bollywood actress took to Instagram and penned a sweet note for The Archies gang. Kareena wrote, “Good luck team Archies!! Kill it everyone. And my favourite Zoya. Can’t wait to watch.”
Explaining why she couldn’t be at the screening, she added, “So sad to not be there – night shoots. This is only the beginning of an amazing ride!! Lots of love.” Her post featured five members of The Archies gang who slayed in style.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies revolves around the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton who will take audiences to the fictional hilly town of Riverdale. The coming-of-age musical explores friendship, love, heartbreak, freedom and rebellion.
The Archies features Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda’s son Agastya Nanda and, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor among others. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Suhana, Agastya and Khushi.
Suhana Khan dazzled at the screening in a sparkling red gown with spaghetti straps, a plunging neckline and a floor-length hem. Khushi Kapoor, on the other hand, wore her mother Sridevi’s old gown for attending her debut film’s premiere. Agastya opted for a velvet tuxedo with a blazer and paired it with straight-fitted pants and a matching bow tie.
The Archies special screening saw a star-studded array of celebrities. Shah Rukh Khan and his family including Gauri Khan, Aryan Khan, AbRam Khan were present at the event. Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graced the occasion to extend their support to Agastya Nanda.
Several others including Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Saba Azad, Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shilpa Shetty, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rekha, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh attended the screening.
The Archies will be released on December 7 on streaming giant Netflix.
