Singing reality show India Idol is nearing its conclusion and very soon one of the finalists, Pawandeep, Arunita, Sayali, Danish, Nihal, or Sammukhpriya will be crowned as the winner of this season. As the fight between the singers intensifies, the audience is witnessing a powerful performance. Though the show has three judges as Anu Malik, Sonu Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya, a special guest/judge is also invited for each episode. The special guest on August 9 was none other than director-producer Karan Johar.
The Bollywood fashionista, who was seen hosting Bigg Boss OTT, appeared in a black suit and looked dashing. The contestants sang songs from KJo’s superhit films. From Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghoom to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the contestants rocked the show with their stellar performances. The filmmakers were pouring praises and even got a little emotional after seeing the tribute.
However, after Nihal Tauro’s first performance, Karan shared some undisclosed details from the making of the popular film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Nihal sang a mashup of ‘Ladki Badi Anjani Hai’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Tum Paas Aaye’ from KJo’s films. Not only did Karan congratulate Nihal for his singing, but also revealed that he faced many rejections while casting for the character of Aman Mehra.
The director-producer shared that he had approached 3-4 stars but none agreed to act in the film as Shah Rukh Khan snatched the limelight. Karan said that though he was disappointed and upset, he was invited to a party by Chunky Pandey, so he left. There, he revealed that Salman had come up to him and said, “Koi pagal hi karega yes role, and I am that pagal hoon. (This supporting role would only be done by a madman and I am that person). Salman asked Karan to read the script to him the next day.
After Karan explained the first part of the film, Salman immediately agreed to play the role. At first he felt that Salman had misunderstood the role as his character was to be introduced in the second part. But Salman said that he is ready to do the film as he knows Karan’s father and it is for him.

Karan further added that after the huge success of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, he went to Salman’s house as he was extremely grateful. There is no doubt that Salman made a huge impact as Aman Mehra despite making a small appearance in the film.
