New Delhi: Noted filmmaker Karan Johar has recently been honored with the country’s fourth highest civilian award – Padma Shri. Apart from KJo, Ekta Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami and others have also been conferred with this prestigious honor for their contribution in their respective fields.
The Padma Shri award ceremony marked the presence of President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other eminent personalities. The director of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ was also present to receive the coveted award from President Ram Nath Kovind which took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 8, 2021.

After receiving the honour, Karan Johar wrote a note full of gratitude on his social media and shared a few pictures. He also revealed how his kids Yash and Roohi reacted to his Padma Shri win. The ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ director wore a black outfit designed by his dear friend Manish Malhotra.
Sharing the post on his Instagram, Karan Johar wrote, ‘About yesterday evening… a truly memorable moment in my life… .. I knew I would have made my father so proud and my mother as my Was very happy to have it by the side…. My kids asked me “Dada have you won a medal?” and I replied “Yes I did I hope you do too one day”!! #PadmaShri…Humble and respected thank you @manishmalhotra05 for styling the evening for me.
He also shared a video of yesterday’s event and shared on Instagram, “It was a great day! I am honored and humbled that I have been given the prestigious Padma Shri award. I feel extremely fortunate to have received this at the hands of our Honorable President, Shri Ram Nath Kovind. It is an important day for me, my mother, my children and my company, and will be etched in my memory forever. Thank you so much for all the well wishes and lots of love!”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar will be directing Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the upcoming film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Love Story’. The film will also feature Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
