Filmmaker Karan Johar is finally back with his controversial show Koffee With Karan. Ranveer Singh in the first episode of the talk show Alia Bhatt who talked extensively about his personal life and indulged in some harmless jokes along the way. However, one particular episode from the last season remained the most talked about among fans.
the matter under consideration was Deepika Padukone And Sonam Kapoor is sitting on the sofa where both of them made some controversial comments on Ranbir Kapoor. Both the actors hinted that Ranbir was unfaithful and that he should endorse a condom brand, among many other things. The brutal jibes targeted at the actor left everyone in shock.
Talking about the aftermath of that episode, Karan recently revealed in an interview with IANS that late actor Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir’s father was extremely upset that the director had to intervene. He said, ‘It has happened many times that after the rapid fire, I had to go inside to douse the fire. I remember when Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came on the show and spoke, Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) got very upset. I had to take steps to fix things. I have banned and take off air shows, for which I felt very bad, ”the director explained in great detail.
He further admitted that to avoid any undue controversy, there are instances where the director has edited out the statements of celebrities or any inflammatory comments. Karan explained, “I have had many times when I have edited the comments made by celebs on the show before the telecast because I thought it would get in trouble. Many a times actors called me directly to cut something like this. The request they made has slipped their tongue. I have done it because for me relationships come before everything.”
Koffee With Karan Season 7 is currently streaming on Hotstar. Will be featured in the next episode of the talk show to be released on Thursday Sara Ali Khan and Jhanvi Kapoor as the guest of honour.
