Karan Johar on receiving Padma Shri award: It’s a memorable day for me

film producer Karan JoharThe Padma Shri awardee at Rashtrapati Bhavan said he felt ‘honoured and humbled’. Karan posted a video of him being honored with the award on his Instagram handle. He said, “Today was a great day. I feel honored and humbled that I have been given the prestigious Padma Shri award. I feel extremely fortunate to have received it at the hands of our Honorable President, Shri Ram Nath Kovind.”

He said, “It’s a memorable day for me, my mother, my kids and my company and it will always be etched in my memory. Thank you so much for all your well wishes and lots of love.” Fans, friends and fellow members of the film industry flooded the post with likes and comments. “Bravo, Karan” Ranveer singh wrote. “Congratulations,” Madhuri Dixit commented.

“Congratulations sir. So well deserved,” Tiger Shroff added.

Varun Dhawan also took to his Instagram handle to congratulate the director of his debut film ‘Student of the Year’. Varun posted a picture of Karan from the ceremony on his Instagram story and said, “Congratulations @karanjohar for this momentous achievement.”

He was accompanied by Karan’s mother Hiroo Johar at the prestigious ceremony.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan is currently helming ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, which stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Apart from this, he also has ‘Takht’ in his bag. Apart from his directorial debut, the filmmaker also has several production ventures in the pipeline.

He has recently produced Akshay Kumar And Katrina Kaif-starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’, together Ranbir KapoorAlia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’. Karan is also all set to launch South sensation Vijay Deverakonda in Bollywood with ‘Liger’, which stars Ananya Panday as the leading lady.
