The. latest season of Kapil Sharma The show has been a huge success with an entertaining cast of comedians and special guests. The show is one of the mainstays of Indian entertainment and has been going strong over the years. However, in 2017, the show went off-air for over a year. Recently, comedian and host Kapil Sharma appeared in a segment of the radio show Fever FM’s Bounce Back Bharat Fest. The comedian spoke of battling depression while the show went off-air. He also described how his wife assaulted him while going through mental health struggles.
While talking to the host, he said, “I think it is not difficult to be the best at your job, but to maintain that position for a while. Doing politics, people pulling your leg. So at that point of time.” I stopped trusting people. They would say something on my face and something behind my back. I closed my show even though no one asked me to do so.”
He launched Family Time with Kapil Sharma after The Kapil Sharma Show went off-air. However, the show was not successful. Later, he restarted TKSS which is going strong now. Talking about the transition, Kapil said, “I was not in good physical and mental condition at that time. But I thought, my show is the best way to respond to opponents. I understood that it was my show that made me want to see the audience. That’s why I started it again. How long will you keep fighting people on Twitter? I thought I should start with what I am good at.”
He also gave credit for helping his family get through difficult times. He said that while his mother was not aware of his battle with depression, his wife Ginni Chatrath stood by him as his ‘pillar of support’.
Meanwhile, The Kapil Sharma Show also stars Archana Puran Singh, Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lahiri, Kiku Sharda and Chandan Prabhakar. Sumona Chakraborty and Rochelle Rao are the recurring actors of the show.
