Kanye West named in ‘battery’ report being investigated by LAPD

Influential American rapper and fashion icon Kanye West has been named as a suspect in a battery report taken by the LAPD’s Newton Division on Thursday morning (US Pacific Time), Variety has confirmed. He was not arrested; A rep for West did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. on South Santa Fe Avenue and Bay Street in downtown Los Angeles, LAPD spokeswoman Redina Puentes, quoted by Variety, said. The location is outside the Soho Warehouse, a members-only club.

Online newspaper TMZ was the first to report, citing police sources, that the incident is being investigated as rape battery, which carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison.

TMZ also posted a secretly filmed video of West, which it says was “shot sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning,” in which a clearly agitated West is heard shouting, ” Did you say that or not? Did you all say that or not? … Because that’s what happened… Now.”

According to Page Six, the actress is also dating husband Peter Artemiev. The couple has an 11-month-old boy, Valentino. Earlier, Fox has been seen pointing towards relationship problems on social media.
