Kanwar Yatra 2022: In a fresh directive for this year’s Kanwar Yatra, the Uttarakhand administration has said that pilgrims will not be allowed with swords, tridents and other such harmful items.

Instructions have been given to the police station and outpost in-charge to confiscate these materials at the district border.

Senior Superintendent of Police Janmejay Khanduri said, “There will be a ban on bringing swords, tridents and sticks in the Kanwar Yatra starting tomorrow. All police stations and outpost in-charges have been directed to seize them at the district border.” (SSP), Dehradun.

This year’s Kanwar Yatra is going to start from tomorrow.

The ‘Kanwar Yatra’ is an annual pilgrimage by the devotees of Lord Shiva. Kanwariyas (pilgrims) visit places like Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch the holy water of river Ganges. Then they worship the Lord with the same water.

In view of the coronavirus pandemic, the Kanwar Yatra in Uttarakhand in 2021 was canceled and entry into ‘Har Ki Pauri’ was also banned.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements from July 14 to July 26 to isolate the movement of Kanwariyas and other road users and minimize inconvenience to the general public and devotees, as the Kanwariya is diverted from Maharajpur and Ghazipur check posts in the eastern district. will enter. and will depart from Delhi for their respective destinations.

Notably, East Delhi will be a transit point on the route for Kanwariyas coming from various states such as Haryana, Rajasthan and others.
