Kannada actor Rishabh Shetty has been in limelight ever since the release of his film Kantara last year. The film not only impressed critics and cinematographers but also broke several records. The filmmaker also received the Most Promising Actor award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards. Now another award has been added to the list of the film. The screening of Kantara will take place on Friday, March 17, at the Pathé Balexart at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Significantly, this news is huge for the Kannada film industry as Friday also happens to be the birthday of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Presently Rishabh Shetty is in Geneva and has given his oral submission. The Center for Global Affairs and Public Policy (CGAPP) recently took to Twitter to share a picture of CGAPP director Anindya Sengupta with the director-actor, who met during the session.

CGAPP also mentioned that Rishabh Shetty will shed some light on the role of Indian cinema in promoting environment, climate and dialogue at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva.

CGAPP also noted that Kantara has inspired people to become aware of environmental challenges and draw on their passions to respond positively to the challenges of conserving the local ecology.

As per reports, after the screening, Rishabh will address the gathering in Kannada and later attend a private dinner with the UN dignitaries.

Talking about Kantara, the film has been set and shot in Keeradi, Coastal Karnataka, which includes the cultures of Kambala and Bhoot Kola. The story revolves around a human and nature conflict where Shiva is the rebel who works against nature.
