“On Tuesday, a man bleeding from his head reached the Colonelganj police station with a saffron dupatta on his shoulder and claimed that he wanted to convert from Islam to Hinduism, but the people of his religion were angry with this and had beaten him up,” the police said. said.
He told the police that his name is Aslam. When asked why he wanted to become a Hindu, he replied that he did not want to live as a ‘jihadi’. He also threatened that if he was stopped from converting, he would leave the locality and go somewhere else.
Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Colonelganj Tripurari Pandey said that an NCR (non-cognizable report) has been registered on the complaint of the man.
“The man’s mental condition is not feeling well and at present the police is probing the matter,” the ACP said.
