Kannada Fame Pratham Slams Puneeth Rajkumar Fans for Observing Puneeth Vrath

In October 2021, one of the greats of Kannada cinema, Puneeth Rajkumar left for his heavenly abode. In his short but illustrious career, Punit has featured in several films, earning a special place in the hearts of many. March 17 marks the late actor’s 48th birth anniversary. To commemorate Puneet’s birthday, his fans have sought to celebrate the occasion by observing a fast or a fast. According to the widely circulated notice, the fast which is being called Puneet Vrat will be observed from March 1 to March 17.

While fans are over-excited by the announcement of pictorial notices, former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Pratham has disapproved of such a practice. Pratham has lashed out at Punit’s fans in an angry tweet. Condemning the Puneet Vrat, he claimed that the holy fast should be only to show devotion to God and not to “artists”.

As per the guidelines of the notice, a special puja ceremony will be organized on March 17. During the puja, Puneet’s fans will present saffron shirt, saffron colored lehenga and saffron shawl to worship him. The image further reveals that the late actor, who was fondly called ‘Appu’ by his fans, will be called Appu Dev at the puja ceremony.

As per the viral picture, no one performing the puja will behave inappropriately. Worshipers will take a holy dip in the holy Tungabhadra river at Hampi. The event will be held at Puneeth Rajkumar Circle in Hospet in Vijayanagar district of Karnataka.

The report further claimed that after the puja ceremony, prasad would be distributed to the people.

Punit Rajkumar’s last film Gandhagudi had a grand premiere on October 28 last year. This movie tells a lot about the conservation of the environment. Puneet Rajkumar passed away on October 29, 2021 due to a heart attack. He was 46 years old.
