Amidst tight security, all the accused Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Krishna and Mithun were produced through video conferencing from the Rohini Court lockup for security reasons. He was arrested on January 1.

Advocate Shivani, appearing for Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan and Mithun, told ANI, “The police sought five days’ custody, but the court granted them four days’ custody.”

“The police told the court that their investigation is incomplete and the names of two other accused have come out, so we need five days of police custody,” he said. He said that no evidence has been presented so far.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Police said that two more people have emerged as suspects in the case. Addressing a press conference here today, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda said that these people are Ashutosh, the owner of the car, and Ankush, brother of one of the accused. He said that soon both the accused would be arrested.

Senior police officer Hooda said, “We have arrested five accused and we are questioning them. During interrogation, we found that two more people are involved in the incident. Our team is conducting raids.”


“The names of the other two accused are Ashutosh and Ankush Khanna. We are looking for them. Both are friends of the five detained. They tried to save the five accused,” he said.

According to the police commissioner, while helping the accused, the duo also tried to tamper with the evidence. A total of 18 teams of Delhi Police are probing the case.
