Shabana Azmi had earlier questioned those who were demanding a ban on producer Vipul Shah’s latest release The Kerala Story. He had tweeted, ‘Those who talk about banning The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who ban Aamir Khan’s film Lal Singh Chadha. Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification, no one has the right to become an extra constitutional authority.

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee On Monday announced a ban on The Kerala Story in the state to “avoid any incidents of hatred and violence”.
