In Idukki, Kerala, an elderly man killed his son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters by setting his own house on fire over a property dispute. Both the girls used to go to school, while the bodies of the younger daughter and the father were attached to each other, seeing that the father tried his best to save the girl. According to news agency PTI, the elder carried out the incident when all the members of the house were sleeping.

79-year-old Hamid first locked the door of the house from outside. Then threw a bottle full of petrol inside the house through the window and set the house on fire. Seeing the house engulfed in flames, Hamid’s son and daughter-in-law kept screaming for help, but no one came forward and all the family members died in no time.
Neighbors say the fire was so severe that it was difficult to help. Police said a neighbor had seen Hamid throwing a bottle full of petrol at his house. Police have arrested the accused.

Police say that Hamid had already hatched a conspiracy to kill his son-daughter-in-law and both the granddaughters. Hamid had already arranged for about 5 bottles of petrol. Not only this, Hamid had also emptied the water tank of the house, so that his sons and daughters-in-law could not extinguish the fire. At the same time, Hamid had also removed the bucket and rope so that the neighbors could not help in extinguishing the fire.

Police said the scene inside the house was heart-wrenching. The bodies of the father and the younger daughter were wrapped around each other. The team faced a lot of trouble in separating the bodies of both for investigation. During interrogation, Hamid has confessed to his crime, further action is on in the case.
