Throughout the year, women observe many fasts for their husbands. One of these fasts is Kajari Teej. Married women observe a ‘Nirjala’ fast for their husbands on this day. This event takes place on the third day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadra. This year the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadra month is falling on Wednesday, 25 August. Women make clay or dung idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri after bathing in the morning on the day of Kajari Teej. Idols of Shiva and Gauri can also be bought from the market. Cover the idols with red cloth and place them on the worship altar.
Offer 16 things to Maa Gauri during the puja. Offer bael leaves, cow’s milk, madarka flowers, Ganga water, datura, cannabis and other offerings to Lord Shiva. Listen to the story of Shiva and Gauri. Then do aarti by lighting incense and lamps. Observe the fast after seeing the moon in the evening.
On the day of Kajari Teej, married women do 16 makeups and offer prasad to Goddess Parvati. Other than looking like honey, other things seem to exist. Henna, turmeric, bindi, bracelet, ear decoration, necklace, armpit, ring, bangles, red cloth, gajra, maang tika, nath or thorn, waistband, nettle, anklet, incense stick, vermilion, kajal, kumkum, sattu, fruit sweet , Roli, Mauli-Akshat, etc.
