South Korean singer Kai of EXO enlisted for his mandatory military training today (May 11). The news of his recruitment broke only last week and since the surprise announcement, KAI hasn’t shied away from expressing that he is heartbroken by the sudden recruitment announcement. Despite the short notice, his fellow EXO members came together to bid him an emotional farewell.
While they posed for a group photo together, continuing the tradition of placing a hand on the head of the member who joined the list, Chanyeol made sure KAI knew he was very much loved by all. The EXO member was seen riding on KAI’s back before being recruited. Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Chanyeol asked Kai to stay safe and come back safely.

Last week, when it was announced that KAI was to be admitted on May 11, he hosted a waivers live session and broke down. The singer admitted that he was taken aback by the surprise as he had planned several activities for the fans – EXO-Ls. “So much is what I prepared. It’s a pity. That’s what’s troubling. I can’t do anything about it. I’m sorry I can’t show you what I prepared, but I’ll be back soon.” I can show it later,” he said, as reported by Koreabu.
“It would be nice if I could see your faces before I go. I think I am going to miss you a lot. Although right now I am already missing you. Today is my first day finding out about this too, so please be understanding. I will smile from tomorrow,” he said.
