Udaipur: A 26-year-old woman was gang-raped near the village, just 250 meters away from the police station. UdaipurThursday evening in Jhadol area.
The woman managed to escape and reached the police station to report the incident. The police immediately reached the spot and recovered the sari of the victim and the wristwatch worn by the accused.
In the preliminary investigation of the police, it has been found that the woman was going to her house on Thursday evening when three people on a bike stopped her. One person left the bike and left, while two remained behind. The accused tried to talk to the woman but when she refused, they forcibly took her to a nearby field and raped her.
The police immediately registered a complaint against the accused and started investigation. The woman was brought to the hospital for medical examination late on Thursday night. Two trainee IPS officers from the district headquarters and a team of FSL were immediately sent to the crime scene for further investigation.
On Friday, a team of senior police officers from Udaipur reached the crime scene. According to SP Udaipur Manoj Chaudhary, a thorough investigation was done and based on the information received, the police arrested an accused Mohanlal from Obra village of Jhadol police station area. The other two accused have been identified and are absconding. The SP said that the police have taken up the matter on priority and soon both the accused will be behind the bars.
