Tarkesh Kumar Ojha, Kharagpur

Troubled by the lack of trains, the passengers of Jungle Mahal protested in front of the Shalbani station of Kharagpur _ Adra division on Saturday. Through this demonstration organized under the banner of Kharagpur _ Adra Railway Passenger Association, the demands were not accepted but there was widespread agitation by stopping the trains. warned of.

Those present on the occasion included senior leader Gopal Lodha, Association’s general secretary Durgadas De and Shalbani unit secretary Jadab Jana etc.

In their address, the speakers said that recently, an exercise has started in the railway department to normalize train operations. But Jungle Mahal is deprived of it. All trains including Shiromani Passenger, Kharagpur _ Hatia Passenger, Kharagpur _ Adra Passenger, Bankura _ Asansol Passenger and Vishnupur _ Dhanbad Fast Passenger are still closed. The stoppages of many passenger trains have been removed from the smaller stations of Jungle Mahal. Due to which the people of this poor and backward area are facing a lot of trouble. The wonderful thing is that rail operations are being naturalized in big cities, while the people of this backward region have been left to their own accord.

The situation is that the poor people of this area have to spend huge amount to go to Kolkata. Reservations have to be made at least one day in advance. The biggest thing is that if the people of Jangal Mahal going to Kolkata miss the Purulia Express in the evening for some reason, it becomes difficult for them to return home, because there is no train. A memorandum was sent on behalf of the association to DRM Adra. If the demands were not met, a warning was given to stop the trains and start a massive agitation. Others present in the meeting included DK Patyari, Anupam Saha and Taraknath Modak etc.
