Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla on Thursday withdrew her petition from the Delhi High Court seeking dismissal of her suit against 5G wireless network technology. Justice Jayant Nath allowed the withdrawal of the petition following a statement by Chawla’s counsel, advocate Deepak Khosla. “The learned counsel for the plaintiff (Chawla) wishes to withdraw the application with liberty to avail the remedy before the appellate court. The application is dismissed as withdrawn,” the court said.

Chawla had moved the application demanding that his suit against the 5G roll out be declared “dismissed” instead of “dismissed”. Chawla’s counsel argued that the suit, which “never reached the stage of litigation”, can only be dismissed or returned in terms of the Code of Civil Procedure, and cannot be dismissed.

The court had also given a week’s time to deposit Rs 20 lakh after Chawla decided not to press the application for its apology. Chawla also withdrew the application for refund of court fee.
